MCYS is a world-leading, award-winning research centre that is internationally recognised for its ethos of promoting innovative youth-informed research with marginalised groups of young people. MCYS brings together academics from various disciplines, including Sociology, Classics, History, Criminology, Linguistics, Politics, and English. Using participatory research methods, MCYS engages with young people across a range of contemporary and historical issues, amplifying the voices of young people to bring about real-world change.
MCYS’ three thematic priorities are:

- To continue to deliver world-leading and paradigm-shifting impactful research.
- To foster the next generation of youth researchers and young community leaders.
